Residents enjoy village feel with world-class facilities
Convenience and a strong sense of community have been cited by residents Madhumitha Mohan and her husband Shekhar as some of the key attractions of living at Greenwich Millennium Village. The couple have resided at Greenwich Millennium Village for eight years with their two children, Druha and Yeshna, enjoying the development’s unique village feel.
Commenting on what life is like on the development, Madhumitha says: “There’s a fantastic community vibe at GMV, which my family absolutely love. It’s not something which is easy to find in London. The GMV Residents’ Association, for example, organize a wide range of events throughout the year – the annual GMV Summer Fayre is one of the highlights.
There are also many different social groups and activities and I participate in as many as I can. I enjoy attending the GMV Indian mothers group, where we learn and rehearse modern Bollywood dances and exchange recipes among other things.Currently, I am also a member of the GMV team participating in the 2018 Shine Night Walk – we’re raising money for Cancer Research UK. We train every night from 8pm-9pm once we’ve put the kids to bed.
Highlighting what she likes most about her three-bedroom apartment, Madhumitha says: “The interior design feels modern and we especially enjoy our family time in the open plan living and kitchen area. Moving in was also easy as the apartment already came with fitted appliances.
Situated on the Greenwich Peninsula just minutes from the River Thames, Greenwich Millennium Village is a mixed-use development of one, two three and four-bedroom apartments and homes. It has been designed to achieve a village feel, offering open spaces, man-made lakes and even its own Ecology Park that provides a haven for wildlife that residents and visitors can enjoy.
Another one of the key benefits for Greenwich Millennium Village’s residents is the range of services and facilities available at their doorstep. The Village Square has a convenience store, hairdressers, a health and beauty spa, a café and a pharmacy, among others. There is even a 24-hour concierge service which can accept packages and hold keys on behalf of residents, perfect for busy professionals.
Madhumitha adds: “Living at Greenwich Millennium Village I find myself rarely leaving the community. Everything I could possibly want is right at my doorstep, from the O2 arena, where I can go to see my favorite Indian artists perform, to the beautiful ecology park that lines the development – we just can’t stay away.”
The surrounding area is also a key attraction for people moving to the development. Greenwich Millennium Village is at the center of Greenwich Peninsula’s emerging business, education, commercial and leisure districts. It is also within easy access of fantastic amenities such as The O2, the Peninsula Retail Park and Greenwich Shopping Park. Transportation links are also excellent and you can be at Canary Wharf within two minutes, at Stratford in nine minutes for the Westfield Shopping Centre or in the West End in 20 minutes via North Greenwich Station on the Jubilee line.
Madhumitha and her husband Shekhar also appreciate the choice of good schools nearby for their children. Greenwich Millennium Village has its own Community Primary School, which has an outstanding Ofsted rating and is equipped with the latest information and communication technology.
The school is designed for full inclusion from Reception Year through to Year 6, offering 420 places. The school also includes Nursery places for 3 to 4-year-old children.
