“My daughter is growing up in a beautiful home within a children’s paradise"

| Testimonials

Sylvia Williams and her husband Paul have lived at GMV since 2004, having moved from Sylvia’s family home in Willesden Green. The couple cite several things that attracted them to GMV, including its child-friendly environment and the buildings being set against a backdrop of lush green spaces. Of course, the added benefit that GMV is only a short commute to the heart of London and a short walk to major entertainment venues such as the O2 also attracted them.

Commenting on the family-friendly environment, Sylvia says:

My husband and I are constantly impressed by the way GMV fosters family life. We have lived in the development since 2004 so our four-year-old daughter has been growing up in a beautiful home within a children’s paradise. There are some fantastic facilities for children here. My daughter absolutely loves to spend time in the parks and on the cycle paths, for example. The nearby yacht club is also a family favourite. When it comes to education, there are some great nurseries and schools nearby meaning that our daughter has the option to walk to school throughout her entire education.

Greenwich Millennium Village has its own Community Primary School, which has an “Outstanding” Ofsted rating. It comes equipped with the latest information and communication technology and also boasts a large sports hall and outdoor all-weather sports pitch. The school is designed for full inclusion from Reception Year through to Year 6, offering 420 places. It also includes Nursery places for children aged 3 to 4 years old.

Sylvia also highlights GMV’s vibrant community as another differentiating factor that makes it a great place to live: ““I really enjoy the familial community buzz at GMV, which is amplified by the surrounding environment and the work of the Residents’ Association, of which I am the social secretary. We meet once a month to plan events and activities for the community to enjoy. On an annual basis, we also organize a ‘Summer Fayre’ for families and friends at GMV – the children absolutely love it. We also have various WhatsApp groups for residents to communicate queries or organize play dates for the kids.”

At the end of the day, home is where the heart is so having a nice home to come back to after a stressful day at work is also very important for Sylvia: “Our home has a sleek, modern feel to it. It came with integrated appliances and flooring when we purchased it which really helped minimise extra costs. Another thing we liked about GMV were the views found across the development over the River Thames and Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park. This breaks up the usual concrete jungle view found in most places in London”.

Situated on the Greenwich Peninsula, GMV is within easy access of fantastic amenities such as The O2, the Peninsula Retail Park and Greenwich Shopping Park. The development’s rich mix of house types and architectural styles has led to a diverse community of first-time buyers, families and downsizers, both from the local area and further afield.

GMV is also located in a key commuter spot. With a superb local transport network, you can be at Canary Wharf within two minutes, at Stratford in nine minutes for the Westfield Shopping Centre or in the West End in 20 minutes via North Greenwich Station on the Jubilee line. Travel by ferry is also available with the Thames Clippers ferry service from North Greenwich Pier only 0.9 miles from the development.
